Poem in Your Pocket Day

As part of the celebration of National Poetry Month, students and staff of our school have participated in Poem in Your Pocket Day since 2010. Every member of our school community selects a poem or composes an original work and carries it with them in their uniquely designed pockets all day, sharing the poem and the fun of National Poetry Month wherever they go. As students share a poem with everyone they meet on Poem in Your Pocket Day they are encouraged and reminded to take daily pleasure and inspiration from the collection of poems in our school library and beyond.

All parents are invited to be our guests at our school on April 16, 2019 as we spend the day listening and reading poems we love in the library. Below, please refer to our schedule if you wish to coordinate your visit with your child’s class. Please join us as we listen to poetry and perhaps bring a few of your favorites to share as well.
